At the conference titled “The New Energy Map and the Role of Northern Greece,” Nikos Sifakis participated as a speaker.
The CEO of AENAOS Energy Systems and Secretary of the Hellenic Association of Photovoltaic Companies attended as a speaker at the conference organized by the “Makedonia” media group.
In his speech, Mr. Nikos Sifakis highlighted a series of structural dysfunctions that prevent Greek society from reaping the benefits of the green transition, despite the country’s strong performance in the penetration of Renewable Energy Sources. Mr. Sifakis began his address by explaining the paradox of high electricity prices, which is attributed to the fact that the price of the kilowatt-hour, through the energy exchange, continues to be determined by the cost of natural gas under the Target Model. As a result, the “cheap” energy produced from the sun and wind never reaches the end consumer, creating a climate of insecurity and unfairness in the market.
